When is the last time you checked in with yourself to make sure your life is going in the direction you really want it to go? Living Intentionally = Bringing more purpose, focus, and time to the things that make you feel most alive. It all starts with deep personal honesty so you can get clear on what means the most to you and what you really want in life. The four questions in this post are meant to help you get really clear on where you currently are and where you want to go.
Why questions? Great Question! 😉
Good deep questions are at the heart of intentional living. A good question can trigger the heart of a matter. It gives you insight, perspective, clarity, and focus. When going through these questions, give yourself plenty of time. Make sure you’re in a comfortable space where you feel the most connected. If the questions bring unrelated topics to the surface, let yourself be curious. Write those thoughts down.
Question 1: What are your top 5 priorities in life right now?
Question 2: On a scale of 1- 10 what score would you give yourself for each of these priorities? How much attention and time have you been giving them?
Question 3: Are you happy with these scores?
Question 4: What is one thing you can do for each of these priorities this week to increase that score?
The things we make a priority in life are the things that get done. Yes, it really is that simple! If you’re missing the mark or falling behind on something, it is because you did not really make it a priority. And that’s okay! The problem might be that you are not setting goals based on what your true top priorities are.
If there is a particular priority that feels significantly low to you (or maybe there is more than one that feels lacking), take some time to think about why. Then, take it a step further and come up with ways to help you raise that number.
You get ahead of this by getting clear on your top priorities so you can design a more meaningful life around them. If you need more help with this activity be sure to check out my Purposeful Planning Retreat. It’s completely free online and guides you through priority planning in more detail.
