Why Habits? Habits are Powerful.
The two building blocks of life are your health and your mindset. The good news, you can be proactive with both!
Your habits have the power to shape both your health and your mindset. We cannot always control things that happen to us in life, or the circumstances that come our way… but we can control our reaction to what comes our way. The way we live our days and the intention we bring to our lives. Your habits are what allow you to be intentional, proactive, and preventative, with your health and your mindset…. With your life.
Your life, the direction of it, is ultimately the culmination of your habits. The little things that you do over and over again… They’re going to lead you down a certain path in life.
You may not notice the shift as it happens, but the little things that you do, years from now they will either move you closer to higher levels you never thought possible or steer you off the course of where you want to be.
Over time this is what leads you to those feelings of anxiousness, discontentment, and depression. Today I’m going to help get ahead of all of this. I’m going to share with you habits that are going to help you strengthen the two building blocks in your life – your health and your mindset.
Pillars of Peace and Prosperity in Life
Habits, they make you who you are. Being intentional with them is so powerful because you may not be able to change your destiny overnight but you can change your direction. Your energy, your attitude, and your overall approach to life. That’s what I am going to give you!
You could do hours of research and there is so much out there about habits.
What I am sharing with you comes from my own personal experience. Everything I share, recommend and advocate for… these are things that I have tried in my own life and they have proven true even in the toughest of times. I promise I only share things that work.
Sometimes it feels like life is trying to knock you down. In my own life, I’ve faced relentless adversity for as long as I can remember. After fighting cancer 3 times before the age of 30 while simultaneously losing my mom, my grandmother, going through a major layoff, a heartbreak and almost entirely losing my voice…it would have been easy and understandable for me to crumble or fall into depression. But that was something I refused to do.
When people hear of my story the first question people ask me is how did you get through all of this? And only that… how did you do it and still thrive in life?
For a while, I didn’t know how to answer. My response was well because I had to. But then the more I started to open up and connect with people I came to realize not everyone has that drive. Not everyone has the ability to strengthen their mindset to the point of I’m gonna get through this and come out brighter on the other side.
This pushed me to pause and look back. That’s when I realized that there were fundamental tools and things that I did to strengthen myself from the inside out so I could continuously lean into adversity, come out stronger on the other side with a more positive outlook, avoid depression, and rise to higher levels in my life.
These are the fundamental tools and building blocks without them, I’m not sure I would have been able to get through everything I’ve had to get through.
I’m a huge believer that while we cannot control what happens to us in life, we can control our reaction. That’s what I’m going to share. Tools and habits that will help you be proactive with your life regardless of what comes your way. Because we only get one very special life… and it’s yours for the taking.
What is going to help you rise to higher levels in your life?
Be your own best friend. – You have to be your own best friend. You have to make yourself and your self care a priority. Nowadays it’s really easy to put everyone else’s needs ahead of your own. Our own self worth is almost tied to other people’s happiness. We want to be loved and accepted so pleasing other people helps us to do that. But the more you put everyone and everything else above yourself the more you lose sight of who you really are. If you want to give the very best of you and be the very best version of you… you have to be a number one priority in your own life and you should not feel guilty about that. That allows you to strengthen yourself and give the best of you.
An Activity for You to Start Leveling Up Your Habits
Pay attention to the way you talk to yourself. Our mind is tricky. It runs away from us. Be your own best friend by being more attentive to the way you talk to yourself. We beat ourselves up so much, make the conscious choice to empower yourself!
Start training your mindset by talking more positively to yourself. This is where mantras can be so impactful. They’re not enough on their own, but definitely a great starting point! Mantras help you shift your self-perception and strengthen your self-worth. They command your attention and help you be more intentional with your self-talk.
Action Steps:
Come up with a mantra each day
- What do you wish someone would tell you each day?
- What do you need to hear?
- What would make you feel more empowered or better about yourself each day?
Write that down. Schedule it as an alarm in your phone and say it out loud to yourself each day!
